It is 4 lbs heavy and it is very sexy looking. It comes with a sunshade, and a long zoompiece. There is also a valve on the scope that you use to fill it with nitrogen gas, thus making it fully fog proof. It has rubber armor and is shock proof too. The lifetime warrany is a nice touch and most importantly, it works great. It matches up well against more expensive brands, and the brightness is excellent, which you'd hope for with big diameter scopes.

The Alpen 788 spotting scope lets you see clear, non-blurry edges on distant objects. The details are great, even at high magnification. When all done with your viewing, the nylon bag is a good place to put your gear. It has a functional strap and a side pocket that you can stick your tripod in too. Of course the scope you buy depends on the type of viewing you'll be doing, but overall, I would highly recommend this scope.
